Reflect – percussion solo with immersive sound

“Reflectir” is the fourth solo by percussionist and interdisciplinary creator Núria Andorrà. A site-specific proposal, alive and adaptable, which unfolds in relation to space, context and other artistic languages.

The piece has been commissioned by the Festival Grec de Barcelona 2025 and the Fundació Joan Miró, within the framework of the Reencarnacions project, a series of performative recreations that celebrate the 50th anniversary of the museum.

Reflecting is a proposal designed to be adapted to multiple contexts: live arts festivals, museums, contemporary art centres, heritage spaces, natural environments or experimental cycles.

In addition, it can integrate collaborations with local artists (visual, movement, electronic, voice…) or with pre-existing visual works, creating unique versions for each occasion. This flexible and interdisciplinary approach allows a unique implementation in each space or territory.

Possible formats:

  • Single Version
  • Site-specific collaborative version with local elements
  • Dialog with visual work / installation
  • Presentation outside or in unconventional spaces

In Reflexions, the percussion solo expands beyond the physical sound gesture thanks to the live sound intervention of Roc Mateu. With the use of Fleischer Machine technology, Mateu builds an immersive sound space that surrounds the audience and transforms the auditory experience into a complete sensory experience.

His work is not limited to an amplification or processing of sound, but becomes a dramaturgy in itself: he listens, interprets and reacts in real time to what happens on stage. This allows each function to be unique, with a lively and dynamic sound narrative that constantly dialogues with percussive interpretation.

The immersive sound generated by Matthew opens up spatial and emotional dimensions that lead the listener to a deep and expanded listening. Sounds travel through space, climb, move away, reflect… The audience not only listens, but also inhabits the show. This live sound co-creation between percussion and electronic makes Reflexions a border piece, which dissolves the limits between the concert, the sound installation and the performative experience.
